Seminars – a different way to learn FOREX

Seminars are often an affordable way to listen to professionals of foreign exchange trading. In a seminar you won’t get a personal experience, but you will instead get to hear from an expert in the industry.

There are different types of seminars, including beginner’s seminars, experts seminars and other seminars which address specific issues of FOREX trading. A huge advantage of seminars is that you get expert information delivered to you, and then a question and answers session after the seminar which is often were you can learn the most. People ask questions, so you can hear others discuss their troubles with FOREX trading.

Some of the big seminars allow you to purchase the handout materials that are given out at the seminar for a hugely discounted price. This is often a great way to get information that is given at seminars if you cannot make it to the seminar, or if it is held far away.

The mentoring method of learning

Mentoring is often the most expensive way to learn foreign exchange markets. This high cost is there for a reason, as it is often the most beneficial in which you learn the most. With mentoring, feedback is given to you on a personal basis, and the learning covers all the bases of foreign exchange markets. It includes trading psychology, market analysis and trading rules.

When selecting a mentor, you must be picky. You have to carefully choose a person with a successful FOREX trading background, and a personality that you are comfortable to learn with. To find a FOREX mentor, your local search engine is often the best place.

Learning FOREX via instruction

Instruction based foreign exchange learning is taking a huge rise in popularity due to the internet. While students trade currency on paper, the educators of the market give feedback on what the students done correctly, and what they did wrong.

Much of currency trading is based on rules taught in seminars and courses that are based on technical analysis. When learning via instruction, the teachers can give feedback on the learner’s use of the rules by inspecting the students paper trading on real life situations.

This is very similar to mentoring, however with mentoring the feedback is given one on one and goes much deeper than seen with instructional learning.

Foreign Exchange Courses

There are many courses available to learn about the foreign exchange. These courses usually involve several people being taught at the same time by the same teacher. Although there are many people being taught at once, you can often get better one on one feedback at these courses than at seminars as the instructor to student ratio is a lot lower, resulting in more personal time.

In addition to mentoring (one on one tutoring), FOREX courses offer a more inexpensive way to learn about the market. There are many places that offer foreign exchange courses and these include:

  • Market Traders Institute
  • Concorde Forex Group
  • Euromoney Training Group.

Remember that there are often local providers of foreign exchange courses, so it may be worth conducting a search in your local area, or on a search engine specific to your country.

Introduction to learning FOREX

The learning of foreign exchange markets is traditionally covered as part of the course in most business schools. As many people do not attend business schools, you can learn about the FOREX markets and currency trading without attending these schools. It can be done through separate courses, seminars, from mentoring, or learnt from other dealers and brokers. Books and foreign exchange magazines also provide a good introduction to the way foreign exchange works.

Many dealers in foreign exchange have often completed degrees such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other masters degrees in areas such as mathematics or finance. As foreign exchange markets are becoming more popular, many education providers are offering special FOREX modules. So if you do wish to learn the inside and out of foreign exchange practices, your local business school or university is a good addition to the information available online.
